ABOUT KAREN N. SCHNEIDMAN, LCSW

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I am an individual, couples, and family psychotherapist located in Northbrook, Illinois. I have more than 25 years of experience working in a variety of outpatient mental health settings, including 14 years at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and I have been in private practice since 1999.  After earning my undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin/Madison I completed my LCSW training at Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research.

WHY I LOVE WHAT I DO

As a therapist, I feel humbled and privileged to be part of a client’s life in a such a profound way. Just being there and listening helps my clients feel supported, safe and validated.  I'm honored to be let into their world. It’s gratifying to facilitate improvement in their ability to seek pleasure, quality of life, sense of well being, compassion and relationships with others.
